About Herat University

Herat University as one of the Higher Education institutions was established in 1367 and has got particular value mong other scientific and academic institutions.since Herat University is the cradle of poetry, letters and Arts , faculty of Letter and Humanitites was the first to educate students in Herat and it is bout 19 years that this faculty is presenting its scientfic and literal services. in order to educate scientific and professional caders in different fields and presenting them to society, small but significant steps has been taken.

 we have witnessed its improvement in the span of several decades till now.there are totally eleven active faculties which cover about 32 departments. Herat University has been able to educate 4223 students till 1387(2008) that in comparison with the previous year there was about 965 students increase. currently, about 1500 of these professional students are serving this country. Herat University has more than eleven faculties and 284 professors from whom 239 are in cadre position. this University has three voice chancellors and about 18 managers. this university, currently, has about 5107 students.
